Wincanton continues to operate the retailer’s transport network for deliveries to stores across the UK
Wincanton, a provider of supply chain services, has extended its three-year contract with Matalan to manage its warehousing. Having established its relationship with the retailer in 2003, Wincanton is going to continue to operate the dedicated 375,000 sq ft Corby warehouse.
The operation is expected to handle seven million cases and four million hanging garments per year. Wincanton also operates 35 tractors and 110 trailers from the warehouse.
Terry Broadhead, Logistics and Imports Controller of Matalan, said: “We have established a solid relationship with Wincanton since the beginning of this contract. The team has worked very closely with us to achieve results that make our business stronger and there was no contest in deciding that Wincanton should continue managing our Corby warehouse in tandem with it running our transport network.”
Grahame Richardson, business unit director of Wincanton, says: “Our team has been able to provide Matalan with a consistently reliable and innovative service for six years now, delivering solutions to maximise efficiencies. We’re extremely proud that the strength of our warehouse management team and transport network has resulted in such a high standard operation.”
Wincanton continues to operate the retailer’s national transport network for deliveries to stores across the UK as well as manage Matalan’s Corby warehouse.
