UPS appoints new managing director of UPS Singapore
UPS has appointed Greg Carstens, a senior operations manager with more than 25 years of experience throughout Asia, as the new managing director of UPS's operations in Singapore.
Carstens will be responsible for all the aspects of UPS's operations in Singapore, business development, including marketing, international trade services, human resources, industrial engineering, customer service, security, finance & accounting, supply chain solutions and air operations.
Carstens has served as operations manager for three years in UPS Thailand, including navigating a period of political unrest to ensure uninterrupted operations for UPS customers.
Carstens began his career in 1981 in Sydney, Australia, working for a small freight forwarding company.
In 1987 Carstens became the operations manager for the service agent that UPS was using at the time in New Zealand later he joined UPS Australia in 1992 as an operations supervisor, then was promoted to brokerage manager in 1994 and operations manager in 1997.
In 1999, Carstens joined UPS operations in New Zealand and then he subsequently served as the general manager of UPS Vietnam from 2005 to 2007 before moving to Thailand.
