Uno Selects ArrowStream Logistics Solution

LBR Staff Writer Published 01 September 2009

Company to improve supply chain management process

ArrowStream, a provider of supply chain solutions for the food industry, has announced a partnership to improve Uno Restaurant Group's supply chain management process throughout its system of 200 company-owned and franchised locations and its Uno Foods division.

Uno has selected a solution that would create efficiencies for its manufacturing operations as well as its restaurant chain.

Uno would leverage the ArrowStream Network to reduce costs by optimizing inbound and outbound freight, creating full trucks and reducing the number of empty miles traveled.

Alan Fox, executive vice president of Uno Restaurant, said: We expect the ArrowStream Network to help us achieve significant efficiencies and savings while improving our service and inventory levels.

The Network includes access to more than 2,300 manufacturers, distributors and chain operators. ArrowStream's patented freight optimization capability leverages the volume and routes of these trading partners to reduce costs and enable fluid product movement.

Steven LaVoie, CEO and chairman of ArrowStream, said: We look forward to working with Uno to facilitate efficiencies in both manufacturing and restaurant operations. In addition to cutting freight expenses and reducing wasted miles, Uno will also improve inventory velocity and service, and garner tremendous business insight that will translate into further savings and efficiencies.
