Partnership continues Fresenius’ use of the Transplace TMS and its business intelligence analytics
Transplace, that provides transportation management services and logistics technology solutions, has revealed that it is going to continue its relationship with Fresenius through a full contract extension.
The partnership continues Fresenius’ use of the Transplace Transportation Management System (TMS) and its business intelligence analytics.
Fresenius Medical Care is a dialysis provider of health care products and services, which has more than 2,400 dialysis clinics providing treatment to almost 200,000 patients around the world. Fresenius Medical Care provides dialysis products such as hemodialysis machines, dialyzers and related disposable products.
Fresenius created a Supply Chain service brand called "TruBlu Logistics", a private fleet of more than 400 trucks responsible for transporting medical supplies to its core renal business and to some of the nation’s major medical suppliers and care providers.
George Abernathy, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Transplace, said: "Transplace’s industry-leading TMS has continued to provide the visibility Fresenius needs for optimization of their freight and their transportation assets in the US and Mexico. In addition, through our commitment to improving operational efficiency and driving cost out of the supply chain, we enable Fresenius by helping to establish sustainable operations through its supply chain and its TruBlu fleet."
Transplace’s TMS provides visibility for Fresenius’s TruBlu Fleet in order to transport loads for customers, including Sunny Delight, within the Transplace network. This leads not only to decreased fuel costs and a reduction of empty miles and emissions, but it also delivers collaborative efficiencies across the supply chain.
Ellen Iobst, chief sustainability officer and senior vice president, manufacturing and technology for Sunny Delight Beverages Co. (SDBC), said: "Like SDBC, Transplace is committed to reducing the carbon footprint of its transportation operations, and that dedication then channels directly into its customers’ sustainability goals."
