LBR Staff Writer Published 03 May 2010

Kuehne + Nagel, a global logistic provider, has been selected by Ripley, Chile’s retailer of apparel, accessories and home products, to provide services for their global order management.

Under the agreement, Kuehne + Nagel will be responsible for the global order management of Ripley’s international sourcing. The contract includes freight management and value-added consolidation services from the export regions Europe, Middle East, the Americas and Asia-Pacific.

Kuehne + Nagel said that it will integrate Ripley’s suppliers across its international supply chain and provide web-based visibility and reporting, including IT interfaces to a number of third-party service providers.

The company will utilise its KN login application, which drives efficiencies through a single platform and enables standardisation of Ripley’s logistics operations globally.

Cristián Castro, manager of logistics planning at Ripley, said: “This partnership with Kuehne + Nagel will give better visibility to our supply chain, control and also contribute to our aim of achieving a '3A Logistics'–agile, adaptable, aligned.”

Ingo Goldhammer, managing director of Kuehne + Nagel Chile, said: “The partnership with Ripley will allow Kuehne + Nagel to add value to their supply chain with our state-of-the-art logistics solutions, dedicated staff and customised services. It has been one of our focus points to offer tailor-made solutions for the retail market, and we will continue to invest in order to become the reference logistics supplier in this important industry in Chile.”
