Kewill Delivers Forwarding System To Damco
Kewill has delivered its forwarding system globally for Damco, a providers of freight forwarding and supply chain management services, following the completion of the first phase of implementation.
According to Kewill, Damco’s customers will benefit from personalised, reliable service, through high service levels, enhanced inventory management and shipment visibility, and efficient operations efficiency.
The Kewill system was deployed by Damco to manage air and ocean shipments, including multimodal, between Asia and Europe, providing required documentation at each port. The system will now be rolled out over next two years to approximately 3,000 users across Damco forwarding network.
The company said that its platform is expected to bring opportunities to Damco in terms of automating and standardising parts of forwarding operation. Having a single platform across entire organisation, will enhance Damco visibility and facilitate simple global connectivity towards customers, suppliers and government entities.
In addition to this, the ability to file-share across global business is expected to enhance data-quality and reduce costly manual rework.
Jacquie Boast, European chief operating officer of Kewill, said: “We are delighted to have delivered the first phase of this important project to Damco’s satisfaction, in turn securing the next phase of the project to roll out the system globally. Our experience of delivering large-scale software implementations internationally allows us, and our customers, to enter this next phase of the project with confidence.”
