Borouge optimises the company’s supply chain operations in Abu Dhabi
Borouge, a provider of plastics solutions, has awarded a five-year contract to Gulftainer to provide on-site logistics services at its polyolefins plant, located in Ruwais, Abu Dhabi.
The services would include bagging and packaging, container yard operations as well as maintenance of associated equipment and vehicles, said the company.
Abdulaziz Alhajri, CEO, Abu Dhabi Polymers company (Borouge), said: "Being an efficient and reliable supplier to our customers is a priority for us."
"With additional polyolefins capacity coming on stream in mid-2010 and the start up of our logistics hubs in Singapore, and Shanghai and Guangzhou in China, it is important that we optimise our supply chain operations also in Abu Dhabi to ensure we are a long-term reliable partner for our customers throughout the Middle East and Asia," he added.
UAE-based Gulftainer manages and operates container terminals in Port Khalid and also Khorfakkan, on behalf of Sharjah Port Authority. The company also owns one of the largest heavy transport fleets in the UAE.
