Finnair, Cathay Pacific start code-share flights between Hong Kong and Brisbane
Finnair to operate daily flights to Hong Kong using an Airbus A340 aircraft
Finnair and its oneworld alliance partner Cathay Pacific Airways have started code-share flights between Hong Kong and Brisbane, Australia.
Finnair will operate daily flights to Hong Kong using an Airbus A340 aircraft. Finnair and Cathay Pacific have co-operated earlier on routes between Hong Kong and Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.
Finnair can now sell Cathay Pacific operated flights with Finnair flight numbers to Brisbane. Cathay Pacific can sell tickets with its own flight number to Finnair flights from Paris, Rome, Frankfurt, Amsterdam and London as a connection to its own flights to Australia.
Mikko Komi, director of commercial partnerships for alliances department at Finnair, said: Thanks to the co-operation, Finnair will be able to offer even more schedule, destination and route choices for customers traveling to Australia. The connections at Hong Kong airport are convenient and the increased number of destinations in Australia gives flexibility in travel plans for Finnair customers.
