FedEx launches new Express flight service from Bengaluru, India

LBR Staff Writer Published 17 August 2010

FedEx has launched a new FedEx Express flight from Bengaluru, establishing direct connections to Europe and the Middle East and the US, in an effort to meet its plans to strengthen its international and domestic services across India.

The logistics company is also expanding its next business day service of premium domestic express delivery service from 14 to 58 origin cities, according to eyefortransport.com.

Indian satellite cities such as Tirupur, Secunderabad, Pimpri, Thane, Chinchwad and Navi Mumbai will be under FedEx network from this month, with more cities to be added in the months ahead.

This expansion of services by FedEx is part of an ongoing focus by the company to strengthen its foothold in India, which started in March 2005 with the launch of the air cargo express direct flight from mainland China to Europe.

A second flight service in September 2005 followed this, doubling the capacity between Asia and Europe with a stop in Delhi.
