DHT Holdings Q2 Shipping revenues down

DHT Holdings, an operator of a fleet of double-hull tankers, has reported shipping revenues of $21.08m for the second quarter ended 30 June 2010, compared to $26.2m for the same period in 2009.

For the second quarter of 2010, the company posted a net loss of $2.02m, or $0.04 per diluted share, compared to a net income of $5.01m, or $0.1 per diluted share, for the same period in 2009 and the total operating expenses were $18.33m, compared to $15.74m for the same period in 2009.

Total comprehensive income for the period for the second quarter of 2010 was $1m, compared to $9.58m for the same period in 2009.

For the six months ended 30 June 2010, the company posted a net loss of $4.23m, or $0.09 per diluted share, compared to a net income of $11.86m, or $0.27 per diluted share, for the same period in 2009 and total operating expenses were $35.58m, compared to $30.4m for the same period in 2009.

Total comprehensive income for the period for the six months of 2010 was $4.85m, compared to $19.11m for the same period in 2009 and shipping revenues were $44.73m, compared to $56.01m for the same period in 2009.

DHT's vessel expenses for the quarter, including insurance costs, were $8.9m which were impacted by additional work undertaken and acquisition of spare parts in connection with the two scheduled interim class surveys performed in the first half of the year.
