DHL Introduces Economy Select

LBR Staff Writer Published 25 October 2009

A new express service offering up to 20% savings for exporters

DHL, an express and logistics company, has introduced DHL Economy Select, a new express service for exporters to the US. The new service is designed for small-and-medium sized businesses, as well as to supplement existing shipping solutions of large and more complex exporters.

Currently, the service is available throughout the Latin American region, including Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, Panama, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador.

Roger Crook, chief executive officer of DHL Express for Americas region, said: Imagine if you had the same shipping logistic support as the top exporters in the world, with access to state-of-the-art systems, expertise in international trade and expedited customs clearance, but at a price lower than what you normally expected to pay. During times of economic uncertainty, finding cost-effective service alternatives like this is essential.

DHL Economy Select is designed for non-time critical shipments to the US, offering day-definite reliability with e-mail updates and online tracking as well as a transparent rate structure that includes customs clearance, no hidden fees, door-to-door pick-up and delivery, said the company.

DHL, a part of Deutsche Post DHL, offers international express, air and ocean freight, road and rail transportation, contract logistics and international mail services.
