CN Makes Changes To Leadership Team
CN, a transportation company offering integrated transportation services like rail, intermodal, trucking, freight forwarding, warehousing and distribution, has made changes to its leadership team. The move is viewed as a key step in driving the company to the next level.
Keith Creel, previously executive vice-president of operations, has been appointed as executive vice-president and chief operating officer of CN. Jean-Jacques Ruest, previously senior vice-president of marketing, has been appointed as executive vice-president and chief marketing officer.
Claude Mongeau, CEO of CN, said: “Keith and JJ are key players at CN. Keith brings a deep understanding of our Precision Railroading model and sound knowledge of what is needed in the marketplace. JJ has acquired vast experience with CN's customer base and knows the intricacies of our rail operations. Together they will contribute their experience and strategic thinking to keep CN at the forefront of the rail industry.”
CN also made other changes in leadership team, such as: Luc Jobin, executive vice-president and chief financial officer will also now assume responsibility for information technology function; Sean Finn, executive vice-president, corporate services and chief legal officer will assume leadership of government and public affairs in addition to his responsibilities for law, risk mitigation, security and corporate secretary functions, and Kim Madigan is being appointed as vice-president, human resources.
In addition, other members of leadership team are Robert Noorigian, vice-president of investor relations, and Gordon Trafton, previously CN's senior vice-president of strategic acquisitions and integration, is being appointed as special advisor.
CN also appointed Jeff Liepelt, previously vice-president of eastern region, as senior vice-president of eastern region, reporting to Creel. Karen Phillips, previously vice-president of North American government affairs, has been appointed as vice-president of public and government affairs, reporting to Finn.
