Cargotec Wins EUR12m Order From Ezra

Published:16-March-2010

Cargotec said that it has won EUR12m order from Singapore-based Ezra Marine Service to deliver two large offshore cranes in 2010 and beginning of 2011, respectively.

The company said that the cranes will be fitted to a deepwater anchor-handling towing/supply vessel (AHTS) and to a self-propelled accommodation barge.

According to Cargotec, the order comprises two large active heave-compensated subsea knuckle-jib cranes. The first is a 150 tonne SWL crane that has an under-deck mounted winch with a 3,000m wire and the second crane is a 150-tonne SWL version being installed on a DP self-propelled accommodation barge.

Cargotec said that it will manufacture vital components for the two cranes at its unit in Kristiansand, Norway and at the recently modernised manufacturing, assembly and testing plant for offshore load handling solutions in Singapore.

Oystein Bondevik, sales director for offshore load handling at Cargotec, said: “Ezra is a major player providing integrated offshore support solutions for the oil and gas industry, and its choice of MacGregor offshore cranes for these newbuilding projects recognises Cargotec’s offshore capabilities.”
